SUPPORT SAC

Thank you for considering Salem Academy in your giving and support. Salem Academy is a Christian school dedicated to excellence in nurturing and providing for: Spiritual Understanding, Physical Health, Intellectual Stimulation, Cultural Enrichment and Emotional Maturity for each student through a comprehensive educational experience founded on Biblical truth so that each student might know and serve God.

Salem Academy has immediate and long-term needs. Some examples are:

SCRIP: This is the "Best Little Fundraiser" ever to come along that directly benefits both you and the school without any extra cash output on your part. SCRIP is "store cash" or gift certificates that are purchased by the school through a distributor whereby discounts are available. Learn more!

General Fund: This fund supplements our current operating budget. It is our goal to keep tuition as low as possible. We rely on donations and fundraisers to make up the difference between the cost of education and the tuition rate charged to parents. The General Fund provides unrestricted funds in support of student’s education and experiences at SA. These contributions fulfill needs such as employee salaries/benefits, classroom supplies, updates in technology, athletic equipment, continuing education for faculty, library books and much more.

Annual Fund: Salem Academy continues to emphasize educational excellence while seeking to build character and values within the life of each student. But some students seeking to join the SA family are in need of financial assistance and would be unable to attend without this aid. As more requests are submitted for financial assistance, our goal is to provide the funds necessary so even more qualified students are able to enjoy the SA experience. As determined by our Board of Trustees, the Annual Fund is currently designated to help families with scholarships.

Real and Personal Property: Vehicles, land, works of art, stamp collections, books and equipment. The full value of these gifts is deductible on your federal income tax return, with certain limitations. Please call Angela Jones, in the Salem Academy Development Office, or your accountant for specific questions. 503.378.1219 or e-mail: ajones@salemacademy.org

Appreciated Securities: By transferring stock to the Academy, you avoid the capital gains tax and broker’s fees on the eventual sale of the stock, and you receive a tax deduction for the full fair-market value of the stock.
