Operation Christmas Child

On Friday, October 7, we were blessed to have a special speaker for our Chapel time. Perry Cartera, with Operation Christmas Child, was here from the Philippines. She shared with us how God’s love is being shown to children all around the world through gift-filled shoe boxes.

WHAT IS OPERATION CHRISTMAS CHILD? An empty shoe box is good for little except throwing in the trash. But when that shoe box is filled with toys and other small gifts, it becomes a treasure chest that can bring Christmas joy and the love of God to a needy child. Each year, Operation Christmas Child delivers millions of gift-filled shoe boxes around the world to boys and girls who are suffering because of war, natural disaster, poverty, illness, or neglect. The children who receive the boxes also learn about God’s greatest gift, His Son, Jesus Christ.

Salem Academy Christian Preschool will be Collection Center for Salem and the surrounding area. Last year we collected 5,834 gifted-filled shoe boxes and this year over 7,000 were collected! Thank you to everyone who helped make this project a success.

Estate Planning For Your Family

Free Service for our SA family

SA has enlisted the help of Gene Christian, of Charitable Estate Planning Northwest (CEPN), to bring an exciting new program to our community. We are currently offering estate planning services to anyone who has a need for such services. The best news? There is no charge for any who take advantage of the services provided by Gene - and you can do it by phone or Skype!

We welcome you to Salem Academy and are excited about the Preschool and Childcare programs we offer. At Salem Academy you will find teachers and staff that really care for your child and your family. We are:

  • Endeavor to make our school/childcare center a safe place for children to learn, play and grow
  • Trained in working with children and participates in ongoing training throughout the school year
  • Remain alert to the ever-changing needs of today’s families and to the findings of current research in early childhood development.

We are not only here for the children, but also to be available to help the parents. Parenting can be difficult in this very high-paced world that is around us. From time-to-time we will be recommending speakers, workshops or books that might be helpful. We want to partner with you to provide the very best for your child as he/she grows and develops.

Childcare is available for Preschool and elementary age children on a pre-arranged basis.

AGES:
2 1/2  - Grade 6

HOURS:
Monday-Friday
7 a.m.-5:30 p.m.

*includes most in-service days and summer
