SCRIP is the "Best Little Fundraiser" ever to come along that directly benefits both you and the school without any extra cash output on your part. SCRIP is "store cash" or gift certificates that are purchased by the school through a distributor, whereby discounts are available. You, in turn, purchase the SCRIP through the school and spend it like cash throughout participating stores in our community. The percentage that is saved is then split in half. Your half is applied to your account for the next school year. The other half goes to benefit the school as a whole. Your initial purchase spends penny-for-penny what you paid for it. There is no loss of money to you whatsoever.
There are so many ways to use SCRIP with just a little planning. Use them for:
- Birthdays
- Groceries
- Family Night Out
- Holidays
- Special Occasions
- (Graduation, Rewards, etc.)
What an opportunity to be a good steward of your finances, taking what God has given and watching it stretch out to benefit your family and your school. As the parable in Matthew 25:14-21 says "...the man who had received the five talents went at once and put his money to work and gained five more!"
